Photon/Photosynthetically Active Radiation Detector
No.PMA2132
Photon energy is proportional to its frequency and therefore inversely proportional to wavelength. To produce a signal proportional to the photon flux (quanta per unit area per second), the spectral power response of the detector (Amps/[W/cm2]) must be inversely proportional to the photon frequency and therefore proportional to the wavelength. The units of quantum flux are traditionally micro-moles (also called micro-Einsteins) per second per square meter. The conversion factors are as follows: 1mE/s/m2 = 1mmole/s/m2 = 6.02*1017 quanta/s/m2 The angular response of the PMA2132 detector is cosine corrected and is suitable for scattered radiation or long source measurements.
Operating environment -40 to 120 °F (-40 to +50 °C) outdoor
Temperature coefficient <0.15%/°C
Cable 50ft (15m) or optional 1ft retractable
1.6" (40.6 mm) diameter
Height 1.8" (45.8 mm)
Weight: 7.1 oz. (200 grams)
Key Features:
The PMA2132 quantum detector can measure the 400-700nm photon flux. The PMA2132 has a waterproof housing and can be operated outdoors or in a humid environment. The number of photons absorbed at 400-700nm is proportional to the photosynthesis rate of plants.
