MICROTOPS II is a 5-channel handheld sunphotometer for precise measurement of aerosol optical depth. It measures and stores 5 discrete wavelengths of direct solar radiation. MICROTOPS has the same accuracy as other larger and more expensive instruments. The optional GPS receiver facilitates field measurements. The user can select 5 of the 8 WMO wavelength filters or specify up to 5 custom wavelengths.
