The sunshine intensity meter MS-802/402/602 is used to measure the solar radiation energy received in the atmosphere. The sensor uses a temperature difference thermopile with a flat spectral response over the entire band. When the solar radiation is absorbed by the black body surface of the sensor, the thermopile generates an electrical signal due to the thermo-electric effect caused by the temperature difference between the cold/hot junctions.
